My first hot flush (flash) happened while I was at work. I was in a window less room facilitating a discussion group when I felt a hot prickly movement ease its way through my body. It started in my lower back and moved into my belly. My neck and face turned red and the top of my head was steaming like the coffee I was drinking. My armpits felt little pin pricks of electrical shock. Anxiety flushed through me like a hot wind in August. My heart was pounding, hammering, beating fast.

I had to get the hell out of that room, I was suffocating.

Deep breath.

No help at all for this searing feeling rushing through my body.

I am as a steak on a hot grill.

Being a vegetarian was no help at all.
